To terminate the ADSL you will need a router or modem. Plum recommend a router as they are more reliable and often include a basic firewall which offers a limited amount of protection.

When you order your ADSL/Broadband connection from Plum you can order your router at the same time and have it pre-programmed so that you simply plug in to your telephone line to receive service.

To use a router you will usually require an Ethernet network card in your PC or alternatively if you have a wireless card you could choose a wireless router and avoid any trailing wires to your PC. If you need network cards we can supply those for you also.

You can connect any number of PCs to the router using additional hubs or switches. Some routers have connection for up to 4 PCs built in whereas others just have connection for one - please check specification before ordering.
